The Garrett's Christmas 2007

WOW! I have so much to update I am not too sure where to start...we had a wonderful Christmas. We spent quality time with our family, saw old friends, went to a Nuggets game..ok, I am getting ahead of myself.

About 4 years ago we took Jacob to Cost Plus to buy stocking stuffers for both sides of the family. He enjoyed the different types of candy, toys, food, etc. so much that he asks to go every year. So, this year I decided to document the tradition he has decided is his favorite. Here is Jacob doing some shopping, and even Amelia wanted to get involved!

I had to take this picture of the whole family dressed up for Christmas service at our church, we were so happy to be together with everyone. We spent Christmas Eve at Mama Judy & George's house. She made wonderful Prime Rib and then we did a trivia game. But ours had a twist, each person received their own "test" made up by George & Judy and consisted of questions about how well we know our family. The last part of the "test" gave us our first clue for our own scavenger hunts. The hunt ended with our own personalized gifts. It was such a great idea, and so much fun!

Amelia opened her gifts this year, which was so much fun for me and Jason. We just watched her and laughed.

Then, we decided to give Jacob his big present...a Nintendo Wii. I wish he would have been more excited! Just Kidding. The whole family, and our friends have already greatly enjoyed it!

Christmas morning started with just the 4 of us opening our presents at home. Amelia got her big gift, a rocking horse. I was so excited to give her one, I didn't even think about her not being about to touch the ground when she was on it! But, she still loved it!

We made a big Christmas breakfast and then piled in the car and headed to Deb's house to celebrate with the family. We got over 9" of snow, so the drive took awhile, but we sure had a great time once we got there.

One of Stephen's gifts to Jason this year was a ticket to the Nuggets vs. Golden State Warriors. Unfortunately, Stephen got VERY sick the night before and could not make it to the game. Fortunately for Jason, his wife loves basketball and accompanied him to the game. The seats were incredible, yep..that is Melo just feet away from us! We had a great time, and a much needed date night!

The next day we had another Christmas gift, Kendra (or Kendroah for those of you in the know), Ben and their kids, Korah & Noah were in town for a visit. This is the first time Amelia met Auntie Kendra. Kendra has been one of my most loyal, consistent, wonderful friends for almost 14 years now. It was so great to see her and her family. And, Amelia loved the kids...especially Noah :)

I completely forgot to take pictures on New Year's Eve this year, but we had a wonderful time. We spent a low-key evening with Ken, Kris and Denise. We ate great food, laughed a ton, and of course ended the evening in our living room playing the Wii.

We are so thankful for the family and friends in our lives. We are thankful to God for the way he consistently provides for us, and the wonderful people he continues to bring into our lives. We hope you all had a great holiday season with your family and friends. May God bless you in 2008. Love to you all...now back to the grind!
