Darling Ava

You didn't think I was done posting pictures of my beautiful new niece did you? I have some new ones from when we took them dinner and a visit, and they had to be posted. Deb is doing so well! She has makeup on everyday and even answers her phone when I call! I am totally impressed. Cade is doing a lot better, and he is getting back to his normal routine. What a cutie Ava is...and what a blessing. Enjoy the new pictures! And, Happy Birthday, Stephen...AKA Bubba (but only to his sisters! :)

Love,
Rebecca

This World is Not My Home

The Lord brought these lyrics to mind today...a beautiful old hymn, praise be to God, the one who gives and takes away...

"This World is not my home, I'm just a passin' through. My treasures are laid out somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door and I can't feel at home in this world anymore."

The Circle of Life

I guess I have always thought of the circle of life being more about the animal kingdom. You know, this animal has to eat this one to survive and so the chain goes. But, it really is about the human race, and how when one life ends, another begins. You all know that Jason's father has been battling cancer for over 2 years now. This past weekend Ken contracted pneumonia. We were told from the beginning that once he had this, it would be his last fight. He is holding on and comfortably resting at home. He is on permanent oxygen as well as the feeding tube. Jason and Ken will be heading out either today or tomorrow to be with their dad. Please remember them and the family in your prayers. This is an extremely difficult time for all of us. As with the circle of life, we are celebrating and enjoying the birth of my beautiful niece, Ava, and at the same time mourning the difficulty of losing Jason's father. Thank you for the support and love you continually show us. We feel so loved. If we have learned anything through this experience, it is to LOVE. Love each other unconditionally, deeply, and like today is your last.

With much Love,
The Garrett Family
