I think 4th of July is probably my favorite holiday. There are many reasons, it is close to my birthday, a great day off, a day to be outside with family and friends, and I love fireworks. We have always done fireworks at our house and it is even more fun with Amelia, and because we have Jake, we start them before July 4th and continue to shoot them off well after the 4th. This year we had a very low key 4th. It was perfect! We spent the evening with my brother and Judy & Geo. We ate light and enjoyed the fireworks show from a new park in Castle Rock...which was cut short because a fire broke out, but it was their first show so hopefully by next year they won't have that problem. We ended the evening sitting in our driveway with the neighbor setting off our own fireworks. I was so proud of Amelia holding her own sparkler this year; I really didn't know what to expect. I mentioned to Jason that watching fireworks was so much more fun with a little one. She kept saying, "Oh, mama, pretty." It was a great evening! We hope you enjoyed the 4th and the way America seems to all come together on that one day.
